Hi Everyone,
I have just come from a great Supervision session on Skype! There is no charge for Skype and anyone who has Internet can download it to their computer. It was great to be able to talk to and see the person as well! We both had cameras ~ I bought mine for a small price at a large department store and because my lap-top has no microphone, I also purchased one of those. The person I was talking to had both a camera and microphone already installed on her computer. If you have to buy them, it's still easy. Just plug them both in and away you go! Skype is very easy to download, I was able to do it, so anyone can!!
This is just another way that we can work long distance in this day and age and it is pretty incredible! I have also been phone counselling for clients who live in Victoria and still wish to utilise what I have to offer. This has worked really well also. To pay me, the person just pays the money straight into my bank account and I send them a receipt.
BSFF Brisbane Workshop
I recently ran a BSFF Workshop in Brisbane. Being new up here, the numbers were small but this didn’t matter as they were all highly experienced therapists with a vast wealth of knowledge which they were willing to share with the group, so a lot of extra learning was generated!
I now need to look at running one in Sydney.
Sleep deprivation!
I am still getting settled into my new home which I really love! One of the things that has really struck me since being here is that the very few times I have felt overwhelmed or missed friends has been when I am very overtired. It is interesting to witness how our mindset can so easily become negative when we are sleep deprived.
I remember one day being very tired and a few things were difficult for me to manoeuvre (no big deal at all) in setting up. My friend Lou phoned and I burst into tears and felt so silly! But I had only had three hours sleep the night before. A couple of days later far worse things happened, a couple of breakages and a spillage of Balsamic Vinegar all over the floor and my feet which was really difficult to clean up. But none of this was a problem in the slightest; I sang away as I mopped up the mess. The difference being that I had had sufficient sleep.
I can tend to be a bit of a night owl, but then when I have an early start, this burning the candle at both ends takes its toll!
Moving from negative to positive
Our mindset can get into the negative with being unwell too. I guess we need to check it and ourselves when we become negative and look at how we can be kinder to ourselves as well as look after ourselves better. How can we generally move to a more positive way of being? Does being aware of this help us to stop, assess and make a change?
I would be interested to hear your comments!
Till next month, lead a courageous life!
Jenni
